On April 29, 2020, the Government of Quebec announced two housing measures intended to help people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, the SHQ also plans to support households whose plans to move into their main residence (property or dwelling) have been delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eligible individuals will receive up to $2,000 per month for a maximum of two months to cover the costs of temporary accommodation, and up to $1,000 for the expenses related to the moving, transportation, and storage of their movable property.
The Société d’habitation du Québec is offering an interest-free loan of $1,500, the equivalent of two months’ rent, to tenants whose income has been reduced as a result of COVID-19.
This program ended on July 15, 2020.
